In 1991, two physicians founded Children of The Americas. Since then, we’ve completed 31 week-long mission trips to Guatemala. Our volunteers have provided thousands of free surgeries to women and children. Our orthotics and prosthetics programs help our patients become self-sufficient. Visit our blog to read about our most recent mission.
Our team includes doctors, nurses, medical technicians, pharmacists, interpreters, logistics specialists and others. We do not have any paid staff; in fact, our volunteers pay their own travel and lodging.
We rely on donations for the purchase of medical supplies and equipment, pharmaceuticals, orthotics and prosthetics, rentals, and other costs associated with our mission.

We accept donations and volunteers.
Every dollar of your donation is spent in service of our mission and our patients in Guatemala.
To serve as a volunteer for our annual mission trip, please visit our Contact page and send us a message. We'll let you know when applications open for our next mission.
