What is Children of The Americas?
Children of The Americas (COTA) is a United States 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Kentucky in 1991.
What percentage of my donation pays administrators?
We have no paid administrators, or any other paid staff. Our volunteers pay for their own travel to Guatemala and their hotel rooms during the mission. Every dollar of your donation serves our mission.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes. If you itemize your deductions, your donation to Children of The Americas is tax deductible.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes. We use Zeffy to accept donations. Zeffy is an SOC 2 certified platform that uses encrypted payment processing. Your personal and financial information is completely secure and confidential.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes at the email address you provide.
How can I volunteer for a COTA mission?
Our mission requires volunteers in many areas, including surgeons and support staff, pharmacists, interpreters, drivers, kitchen staff, and more. We have an application process to accept new volunteers, and positions are limited. Spanish language is not a requirement, and interpreters are available at all times.
If you would like us to notify you when applications open for our next mission, visit our Contact Us page and let us know, and we will add you to our email list.
